How a Welsh Gold Ring is Made: Step-by-Step Artisan Crafting

Phase 1: Melting & Grain Formation

Intense Thermal Melting

First, the solid Welsh gold is placed into a high-temperature crucible and melted using intense torch heat until it reaches a fluid state.

Forming Gold Grain

The molten gold is carefully poured to form raw gold grain. This allows master smiths to measure exact carat weights (9ct, 14ct, or 18ct) with absolute precision before casting begins.

Phase 2: Rolling & Profile Shaping

Rolling and Annealing the Bar

The gold ingot is passed repeatedly through traditional rolling mills and periodically heat-treated (annealed) to soften the metal, building structural strength while forming a smooth bar.

Final Polish & Welsh Maiden Stamping

The ring is hand-buffed on a high-speed polishing wheel to reveal its rich, warm gold lustre. Finally, it is sent for independent testing and stamped with the official UK Assay Office hallmark and our exclusive Welsh Maiden mark of authenticity.
